Our Development

The name ‘Ruksak’ originated from the idea of providing the essentials any young person might need in their ‘personal rucksack’ to navigate their school journeys on a level playing field with their contemporaries. We realised that it was not just stationery that could make the difference, but uniforms, casual clothing, toiletries, and other basic items that were even more important to allow the young person to flourish. However, it soon became clear that the best way to help the children was to help the whole family unit. Therefore, we grew our capacity to help the whole family and so developed our ‘new’ mission. We liked our name so much, we decided to keep it – Ruksak.
